Your legal name, email address, identity verification documents, and payment information are never displayed publicly through your profile or author page.

FRIENDLYREADS does not sell your personal information to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
Where third-party service providers are used to support features such as advertising, payment processing, or technical services, they process information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with their own applicable privacy practices.

FRIENDLYREADS collects certain information to provide, maintain, improve, and protect the Services. The information we collect depends on how you use the platform and whether you participate as a reader, writer, or both.

FRIENDLYREADS does not require users to upload a profile picture in order to use the platform.

To improve your reading experience, FRIENDLYREADS stores information related to your personal library and reading progress.
This allows the platform to:
Remember the books you have added to your Library.
Resume reading from the last chapter or location you accessed.
Synchronize your reading progress across supported devices associated with your account.
This information is maintained solely to provide these features and is not displayed publicly to other users.
Community Interactions
FRIENDLYREADS is designed to encourage meaningful interactions between readers and writers.
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect information you voluntarily submit through community features, including:
Book comments
Social posts
Messages posted on public Message Boards
Feedback submitted to FRIENDLYREADS
Reports concerning technical issues, inappropriate content, or policy violations

5. Media Access
To enable certain community features, FRIENDLYREADS may request permission to access your device's photo gallery or photo picker.
This permission is used solely to allow you to voluntarily upload images that you choose to share within the platform, including:
Profile pictures
Book covers
Images attached to social posts or other community content
FRIENDLYREADS does not access, upload, or collect photos from your device unless you intentionally select them for upload.
Providing media access is optional. If you choose not to grant this permission, you may continue using FRIENDLYREADS; however, features that require uploading images may not be available until permission is granted.
FRIENDLYREADS does not require access to your device's camera. Any images shared through the platform must be selected from your device's existing photo gallery or photo picker.
Uploaded images become subject to the visibility settings of the feature where they are posted. For example, a profile picture is displayed publicly as part of your user profile, while a book cover is displayed as part of the published work to which it belongs.
6. Community Features
FRIENDLYREADS is designed not only as a reading platform but also as a community where readers and writers can interact, share ideas, and support one another.
Certain information and content you choose to publish are intended to be visible to other users as part of these community features.
Public Profiles
Every registered user has a public profile that may display:
Pen name or username
Profile picture (if provided)
Followers and Following information
Personal Message Board
These features allow users to interact respectfully within the FRIENDLYREADS community.
Message Boards
Each user has a personal Message Board where other users may leave public messages.
Messages posted on a Message Board are considered user-generated content and may be viewed by other users who have access to that profile.
Users are responsible for ensuring that any information they choose to post publicly complies with the FRIENDLYREADS Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines.
Writer Features
Users who register as writers have additional public profile features that help readers discover and follow their work.

Writer Notice Board
The Notice Board allows writers to publish announcements, updates, and other information intended for their readers.
When publishing a notice, writers may choose whether followers should receive a notification about the new announcement. This setting allows writers to communicate important updates while avoiding unnecessary notifications.
Followers
Users may choose to follow other users, particularly writers, to receive updates about their published content and community activity.
Follower and Following information is publicly displayed as part of user profiles.
User Responsibility
Because community features are designed for public interaction, users should carefully consider the information they choose to publish.
FRIENDLYREADS encourages respectful participation and reminds users not to post confidential, sensitive, or personal information that they do not wish to make available to others.
7. Age-Based Content
FRIENDLYREADS welcomes readers and writers aged 13 years and above.
To help create an age-appropriate reading experience, the platform uses a content rating system and visibility controls designed to ensure that users are presented with content suitable for their age group.
Content Ratings
Stories published on FRIENDLYREADS are assigned a content rating to help readers understand the intended audience and the nature of the content before reading.
Current content ratings include:
4+ General – Suitable for general audiences.
12+ Teens – May contain themes appropriate for older children and teenagers.
16+ Moderate – May contain more mature themes suitable for older teens.
18+ Mature – Intended only for adults aged 18 years and above.
Readers are encouraged to review a story's content rating before beginning to read.
Content Warning Tags
In addition to content ratings, authors may be required to provide content warning tags for stories that contain material some readers may find sensitive or disturbing.
Content warning tags are intended to help readers make informed decisions before accessing a story and do not replace the story's age rating.
Age-Based Visibility
FRIENDLYREADS uses age-based visibility controls to help prevent users under the age of 18 from viewing stories classified as 18+ Mature.
Users who are not eligible to access mature content will not be shown books carrying the 18+ rating within the application.
Community Responsibility
Authors are responsible for selecting accurate content ratings and applicable content warning tags for their stories.
FRIENDLYREADS may review, update, or correct content ratings and warnings where necessary to maintain the integrity of the platform and to help provide an appropriate reading experience for all users.
8. Purchases and Rewards
FRIENDLYREADS offers optional features that allow users to support writers and access additional content through purchases, subscriptions, gifts, and the in-app coin system.
Participation in these features is entirely optional. Users may continue enjoying free content without making purchases or subscriptions, subject to the availability of free stories on the platform.
Subscriptions
FRIENDLYREADS may offer subscription plans that provide eligible users with access to subscription-exclusive benefits and participating paid stories during the active subscription period.
Information related to subscriptions, such as subscription status and expiration dates, is maintained to provide the subscribed services and manage user access.
Subscription payments are processed through the applicable app marketplace or authorized payment service provider. FRIENDLYREADS does not collect or store users' complete payment card information.
Story Purchases
Users may purchase eligible completed stories that are available under the FRIENDLYREADS paid publishing program.
Information relating to these purchases is maintained to:
Grant continued access to purchased content;
Restore purchases when appropriate;
Provide customer support; and
Maintain transaction records.
Gifts
Readers may voluntarily send virtual gifts to writers as a way of expressing appreciation and supporting their work.
Information relating to gifts, including the sender, recipient, gift value, and transaction details, may be maintained to:
Process the gift transaction;
Credit the appropriate writer;
Maintain transaction records; and
Resolve customer support or payment-related inquiries.
Gift transactions do not disclose confidential payment information to other users.
Coins
FRIENDLYREADS includes an in-app coin system that may be used for eligible platform features.
Coins may be obtained through methods made available by FRIENDLYREADS, which may include promotional activities, purchases, rewards, or other authorized methods.
Information relating to coin balances and transactions is maintained to:
Credit earned rewards;
Process coin usage;
Prevent fraud or abuse;
Resolve account issues; and
Maintain accurate account balances.
Rewarded Advertisements
FRIENDLYREADS may offer users the opportunity to voluntarily watch rewarded advertisements in exchange for eligible in-app rewards, such as coins.
Watching rewarded advertisements is entirely optional.
Users are never required to watch advertisements to continue reading or using the core features of the platform.
Rewards are granted only after successful completion of the advertisement and in accordance with FRIENDLYREADS' reward policies.
Transaction Records
To provide customer support, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and maintain the integrity of the platform, FRIENDLYREADS may retain records relating to purchases, subscriptions, gifts, and other eligible transactions for an appropriate period consistent with applicable laws and operational requirements.
9. Advertising
To support the continued operation and development of the FRIENDLYREADS platform, FRIENDLYREADS currently offers optional rewarded advertisements.
Advertisements are provided in a manner intended to minimize disruption to the reading experience. Users are never required to view advertisements in order to continue reading stories or using the core features of the platform.
Unity Ads
FRIENDLYREADS currently uses Unity Ads to provide optional rewarded advertisements.
Unity Ads may collect or receive certain information necessary to deliver, measure, and improve advertising services. Such information may include device identifiers, technical device information, and the Android Advertising ID, where applicable and permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
Information collected by Unity Ads is governed by Unity's own privacy practices. Users are encouraged to review Unity's Privacy Policy for additional information about how Unity processes personal information.
Android Advertising ID
On supported Android devices, Unity Ads may use the Android Advertising ID (AAID) to provide more relevant advertisements, measure advertising performance, prevent fraud, and improve advertising services.
Users may manage or reset their Advertising ID through their Android device settings, subject to the options provided by the operating system.
Optional Participation
Participation in rewarded advertising is entirely voluntary.
Choosing not to watch rewarded advertisements will not prevent users from accessing FRIENDLYREADS or reading stories that are otherwise available to them.
However, users who choose not to participate may not receive rewards that are specifically associated with rewarded advertisements.
Future Advertising Services
As FRIENDLYREADS continues to grow, additional advertising or mediation services may be integrated to improve advertising performance and user experience.
If additional advertising providers are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly to reflect the applicable data collection and privacy practices before those changes take effect.
Third-Party Advertising
Advertising services provided through Unity Ads are subject to Unity's own privacy practices and policies.

10. Account Deletion
FRIENDLYREADS respects your right to control your personal information and the content you create on the platform.

What Happens After Deletion

Deletion of an account does not automatically remove records that FRIENDLYREADS must retain for legitimate business, legal, or financial purposes.
Your Choices
You are not required to delete your account simply because you no longer wish to publish stories or participate in certain platform features.
You may choose to:
Edit your profile information.
Remove or update user-generated content.
Stop using the platform at any time.
