About the Initiative
From Reading to Belonging is FriendlyReads' reader-focused initiative designed to make reading more than an individual experience.
Through opportunities to share feedback, participate in reading activities, discover new stories, connect with fellow readers, and support writers, readers become an active part of the community behind the stories they enjoy.
The initiative brings together Reader Reviews, Reader Insights, reading goals and challenges, book giveaways, reader recognition, and the FriendlyReads Reading Circle.
The FriendlyReads Reading Circle is the community at the heart of From Reading to Belonging—a space where readers can discover stories, share their experiences, participate in activities, and connect with fellow readers.
Through reading goals, challenges, discussions, Reader Reviews, Reader Insights, giveaways, and other community activities, members have opportunities to participate beyond simply reading a story.
A Hybrid Youth-Serving Organization
FriendlyReads Reading Circle is a hybrid youth-serving organization that uses an active online community to promote reading for pleasure among young people across the Philippines.
While our reading community connects youth from different parts of the country online, our physical community development activities are anchored in Barangay Bukal, Pagbilao, Quezon, where we plan to conduct book giveaways, community reading activities, and develop alternative reading spaces such as Book Nooks.
Our online community is open to youth across the Philippines, while our initial physical community programs are focused on Barangay Bukal, Pagbilao, Quezon.
